Home cinema recommendations

5 things to consider before installing a home cinema

  • Do you have a dedicated room for a home cinema or incorporating into an already used room eg living area?
  • Do you already have an audio system that could be incorporated?
  • What sources do you want access to e.g. Gaming System, Blu-Ray player, Sky Media center
  • Do you already have structured cabling in place?
  • Do you have an AV CAB?

The above points need to be covered before embarking on your home cinema system.

Although TV cabinets can look impressive, they don’t leave a lot of room for your speakers. This means that sound quality is compromised; there is little or no point of having a brilliant picture if it’s not backed up with impressive sound.  Audio and makes up for 50% of the experience of having your own home cinema, if fact sometimes it is the audio that makes the movie or game spectacular and creates an exciting atmosphere in the comfort of your own home.

The choice of screen would also depend on the size of room, Lairds of Troon would advise on the best positioning of the screen and maximum screen size whether this is a TV or projector the choice would be yours.
