A detached modern home with 5 bedrooms and a new garage to room conversion.
This project is a retro fit whole home wiring project. Our brief was to flood wire this fantastic property, install and setup 3 Samsung Smart Tv’s and install an HD video matrix for video distribution with IR Passback for three sky boxes. Our initial challenge was to find a route from the loft to the AV Cab without damaging the property. We built the AV Cab into an area that was effectively dead space, moved the radiator and boxed the cab into place, still providing access to cabling for setup.
The brief: Initially provision for 4 Smart TV’s, Distribution of 3 x Sky boxes and Media server. The main dining room in the home will have a 5.1 surround sound system available for the main viewing screen, sky and media. Future provision for bedrooms to be integrated as required.
The Solution: Minimum recommended cable solution for each TV and proposed TV location, Extra data points as per our recommendations. Extra Audio zone available due to specified Amplifier (bonus). HD Base T Video distribution system. Yamaha 5.1 AV Amp to surround faceplate. Allowing clients own speakers to be used.
The Method: With this stunning house the clients were living in the property whilst building works were progressing. Due care and attention was taken to minimize disruption. Initial investigation proves the drop route from the loft space to the ground floor. We determined the AV Cab location, there was a small radiator in an alcove to the left of the main entrance to the property. The drop route and the space was ideal to house the AV Cab. The radiator was relocated, and a platform was created to allow the cab to be situated in the previously wasted space. This setup allowed the client peace of mind from tampering fingers of 3 small children.
The TV’s were all Samsung Smart TV’s of various sizes sourced for the client, all have warranties supplied. A variety of brackets were used, from flat mount with tilt to full cantilever systems.
Video distribution was supplied using HD Anywhere’s fantastic HD Base T system. Very reliable and a quick install. A wee issue with the remotes so remember that small metal clip! We could certainly use brackets for the receivers to attach to the back of the TV’s
For HD video provision we have used the fantastic, affordable Popcorn Media Tank. This device provides all formats of video, audio and images to all zones in the property. Very robust, hard to aquire, but worth the hassle.
All this protected by a Draytek Vigor router and Netgear GB switch. Resulted in a very fast and reliable network.
