The integration of electronic systems into a house can be a complicated process, involving lots of different products, various contractors and many, many decisions.
And this art hinges largely on LAVA’s ability to design. Just as an architect designs a plan for the construction of a house the designers at LAVA design a plan for the installation of the electronics gear This drives the installation. Consequently, if the design is under par, so might be the installation of your wiring network, TVs, speakers, home control keypads and other components.

The best designs happen before the construction of a new house or the rehab of an existing residence begins, and the all-important first step is meeting with the client to find out their expectations and determine how they want their house to perform and we show them what’s possible. At this point, there’s no need to choose specific products (although it’s okay if you have specific items in mind). A simple “Yes, I’d like to be able to watch movies in my bedroom,” is enough information for us to put together a design.

LAVA Designs come in a few different forms depending on the project. We will provide elaborate renderings in CAD, with locations of products illustrated; with a narrative that explains room by room how the installation of components will unfold; we will also mock up line drawings. Usually, the more sophisticated the installation, the more detailed the design needs to be.

Details in LAVA’s electronics design will provide important direction to the other trades on the job. For example, if the design calls for a large OLED TV mounted to the wall in the family room, included should be a request that your architect or builder construct that appropriate structural supports. By the same token, renderings from the architect can be just as useful to LAVA. For example locations of windows will help us determine the best spot for a TV.

Only after everyone is on-board with the design can the actually installation start. Sometimes, the design is enough. Some clients may not want to commit to an installation right away, they may need answers like how to wire there new extension or build a theatre room with the appropriate structural supports for a ceiling mounted video projector. We are happy to provide the design and consultancy and then when they ready to commit they can continue to work with LAVA who designed the electronics plan. It’s during the design process that relationships and trust are formed. Our clients have the satisfaction of knowing that their design will allow them to proceed with their project at their pace.

How you’ll be charged for the design and installation differs by project. Please contact us for more details and start your journey to the home of your dreams now.
